“Reconciling Sexuality To Christ And Self”

Group Information

1. Purpose: To reconcile same sex attraction to Christ through:

• Learning trust, boundaries and true friendship.
• Identify new ways of relating to men that are free from anger, resentment, dependency, physical attraction and fantasy.
• Learn to resolve conflict, frustration, disappointment, depression, loneliness and isolation.
• Identify personal healing areas needed to relate better to other men and women.
  

2. Benefits Of The Group:

• Share in hope of recovery and wholeness with other men.
• An emotionally safe environment in which to express your needs and healthy ways of having needs met.
• Learn and apply solutions to your struggles from other men’s experience.
• Give and receive support and affirmation with other men struggling.
• Recognize behavior patterns that are destructive in relationships and learn new ways of relating.
• Group Psychotherapy is financially most affordable.
  

3. Commitment Requirements:

·        Attend a weekly session for a period of 12 weeks with no more than 2 absences.  

·      Arrive promptly to each meeting at the appointed start time.

·        Contribute to the discussion of the group in an honest, open way.

·        Pay the group fee at the beginning of each meeting.

4. What To Expect In The Small Group Experience:

·        A closed group-after the first group meeting, there will be no new members.

·        Support from the group regarding your struggles.

·        New relationships to form that may be uncomfortable and conflictual at times however necessary for healing.

·        The healing process takes time, personal responsibility and investment.

5. Fees:

·        Application Fee is a one time, non-refundable fee of $25.00.

·        The meeting Fee of $30.00 per session is paid at the beginning of each meeting.

6. Logistics:

·        A group size no larger than 6 men

·        Start date for the group is June 7, 2001, the last meeting will be August 30.  (August 9 will be the only Thursday the group will take off in observance of the Exodus North America Conference)

·        The group will meet from 7:30 pm to 9 pm each Thursday evening for 12 weeks.

·        The location is in downtown San Francisco near the Bart station.  (The address will be disclosed prior to the meeting date)
